Welcome!

Welcome to Laugh Cry Think. In this space I publish new blogs once a month about the moments and experiences in my life that drive me to live wholeheartedly: things I find funny, that move me, and drive me to live with increased passion and presence. I’m hoping the same for you. Thanks for reading!

You Have Taught Us Grace: A Poem

The movements get bigger

Every day, it seems

As you shimmy your way towards life

And light

And we wait, patiently (some would say)

Though I don’t always feel patient.

Your mother is sacrificing so much

Her sleep,

Her comfort,

Her body

And sometimes I don’t know what I have to give

But enough about me

For now.

You are the light in our world

Everything got a bit brighter when we found out

That the first test

Was wrong

And we were three.

It’s difficult to think

That one day you’ll grow tall

And strong

And have many words of your own

Because now, today,

It seems you will be small forever.

The love we have for you

Is one we can’t grab with words,

Or poems,

Or essays

Even though

we can’t see you yet.

And maybe that’s what makes you so

Special

You have instilled in us deeper

Faith

Hope

And Love

Without doing anything

But being yourself

And so you have also taught us

Grace.

And for that, we thank you

And we love you.
